Numbers drawn in last night's Lotto were 3, 14, 26, and 31 and there was no jackpot winner.
This means the jackpot now grows to the magical maximum figure of €20,000 and it will remain there until it is won.
The usual jackpot increases of €300 per draw will now go into our roll-over jackpot instead, to mean that the next jackpot will also hit an impressive figure after the current one is won. The rollover stands at €7,600 right now.
Lucky Dip winners last night were Kayla McEvoy, Bridget Byrne (Effernogue), Colm Whelan, and John Murphy. They win €40 each.
Coiste na nOg Loch Garman is again running its Irish language scholarship scheme in 2016 and anybody from Ferns who might be interested is asked to contact our Coiste na nOg Secretary, Mag O'Leary-Doyle, before Sunday January 24.
The scholarships will be to Coláiste Cholumba at An Cheahrú Rua in Connemara, and are for summer courses designed to give and improve students fluency and develop their understanding of Irish in a fun and educational environment.
The courses are fully accredited by the Department of Education and the Department of the Gaeltacht. Currently there are 14 places available to Coiste na nÓg Loch Garman (Residential Course) from 28th June - 19th July. All clubs are being asked to submit names of interested members, and from these, a draw for the 14 available places will take place.
All applicants must be paid up members of the club, and between 14 and 18 years of age. The total cost of each scholarship will be €710, to be made up of €236 from the player, €237 from their club, and €237 for Coiste na nOg Loch Garman.
Again, anybody from Ferns who would be interested in a scholarship is asked to contact Mag O'Leary-Doyle before Sunday January 24.
Our Lotto jackpot continues to grow and is now closing in on the magical maximum €20,000 mark after nobody matched last night's numbers of 3, 20, 29 and 31. This means the jackpot will be €19,800 for the next draw, to be held in Sinnott's of Bunclody on Tuesday January 19.
Lucky Dip winners last night were:
Orla & Mark Furlong
All club members and supporters are invited to attend an Extraordinary General Meeting, to be held in the clubhouse at 8 p.m. next Thursday night, January 7.
The purpose of the meeting is to discuss development plans for the year, following our securing of a Sports Capital Grant for work on the clubhouse. Further fundraising for the project will also be required, and this will be discussed at the meeting too.
It is hoped to have a large attendance for what will be a very important meeting.
