What a wonderful weekend that was for Féile Peile!
It may have been disappointing on the playing field for the Ferns team, as they lost all four of the matches they played, but if ever there was an event that showed how sport can be about so much more than winning and losing, then surely this was it.
We made great friends over the weekend with our visitors from South London and we consider it an honour to have hosted them, on what was a first trip ever to Ireland for most of their players. We also developed new contacts with the other clubs in our group - Castleblayney Faughs from Monaghan, and An Tóchar from Wicklow - and we know they enjoyed their time in Ferns as much as we enjoyed having them here.
The club grounds looked spendid for the weekend and were a tribute to all who put in so much great work - sincere thanks to all of them. Thanks too to the many who volunteered and helped out in so many ways over the weekend itself, at our own grounds, at the new County Wexford Centre of Excellence, and at various traffic duty points around the village.
It really was a wonderful occasion and we're already looking forward to when the hurling Féile comes to Wexford in a couple of years' time!
