There's been lots to smile about at underage level this week, as Ferns teams in all age groups from Under-12 right up to minor have scored good wins in both hurling and football.
First, on Monday evening, the U-16 hurlers took on Dunbrody Gaels in the Roinn 1 Championship quarter-final. This was a real cracker of a match that was nip and tuck all the way through until Ferns scored 1-1 right at the death to earn victory by 3-15 to 1-17.
On Tuesday, our U-12 team completed the Shield Double, as they beat Marshalstown/Castledockrell in their football final to follow up their win in the hurling final last Friday night. It was fairly comfortable for Ferns here, as they won by 5-7 to 1-8.
There was another big win in football on Wednesday, as our minors took on Clonard in the Roinn 2 Championship quarter-final and won by 6-10 to 2-2.
Then it was back to hurling on Thursday, with our Under-14 side beating Monageer/Boolavogue by 4-12 to 1-5 in the Roinn 2 Shield quarter-final.
Well done to them all!
