Two Ferns football teams travelled to Coolree to take on Duffry Rovers last night, and there were two very different results, with the men losing out to their hosts but the boys giving them a big beating.
The men were involved in the ACFL Division 2 semi-final against the table-topping Duffry, and they lost out by 0-14 to 0-11 in a game where there always just a couple of points behind. The closest they came was when it was 0-11 to 0-10 in favour of the Duffry with ten minutes to go, but the home side finished stronger and it's they who go on to the final.
On the neighouring pitch though, our under-12 footballers were having a different sort of game altogether. They goaled within the first ten seconds of play and went on to score on less than ten more goals too, as they racked up an 11-7 to 2-0 victory.
This keeps them top of their division, with three wins from three games played, so well done to them all.
