Séamie Murphy Memorial Tournament 2021
The club hosted a magical and memorable day on Sunday September 5, with the staging of the inaugural Séamie Murphy Memorial Tournament. Our under-11 hurlers were joined by others from Oulart/The Ballagh, Halfway House/Bunclody, Rathnure, Rapparees, Buffers Alley, O'Loughlin Gaels (Kilkenny) and Kilmacud Croke (Dublin) on a fantastic day which was a fitting tribute to a great man who gave such great service to underage GAA in Ferns for so many years.
Kilmacud Crokes were the inaugural winners of the Séamie Murphy Cup, which was awarded not only on the basis of match results, but also on other factors such as respect for the opposition, coaches, and referees.
Sincere thanks to main tournament organisers Jamie Dunbar and Peter Nolan, and the many other people who helped out in all sorts of ways. We're looking forward to doing it again next year!
